What?
A 12K and a 25K trail runs around Angel Island. The 12K is a single loop. The 25K does the loop twice. The elevation profile is not too scary, at least compared to Alpine summer runs but the race is nevertheless quite challenging.

Where?
The Angel Island run takes place in the Angel Island State Park (www.angelisland.org), one of the best spot in the San Francisco bay. Sun is shining, mild temperature, no fog, the perfect place for a short break in California.

When?
The race is planned every year in March, August and December. If you miss the winter run, August is probably the best time of the year to take on the Island trails. If the race doesn't sell out, there is race day registration.

Why?
As for every Envirosports' event, the winner gets a rubber chicken. No money, no chip, no iPod, no non sense. A friendly run where you can easily chat with other runners. The race is an ideal escape from the shopping rush and you'll fall in love with the Bay Area as you follow the hilly trail circumnavigating the island. The amazing views of the Golden Gate Bridge, Alcatraz, the city skyline, the Bay Bridge are the main hazards, keep an eye on the track.
