What?
The Baxters Loch Ness Marathon is a spectacular marathon through stunning Highland scenery. To offer more options to the runners, the organizers added a Baxters River Ness 10K and an even shorter Baxters River Ness 5K Fun Run.

Where?
From the high ground between Fort Augustus and Foyers to Inverness, running along Loch Ness' south eastern shore and the river Ness. The finish line is at the Inverness Queens Park Stadium.

When?
The first weekend of October (2rd October 2011). Register as soon as possible if you want to grab a guaranteed marathon entry.

Why?
Presented as the "Scottish Highland Experience" or "A Monster Race!", the Loch Ness Marathon offers you the chance to visit Scotland's most famous lake and Inverness, the capital of the Highlands. Thousands participants joined last year one of the world's most stunning races with pipes and drums along the 26 miles. Most of the runners add to the mystery and legend of the race the option to collect money for a charity. Sightings of Nessie, the mythical Loch Ness monster, after hitting the wall or after a shot of a local Glen Ord whisky are not rewarded.
