What? The Garda Trentino is a half marathon on the furthest north town on the shore of the famous lake Garda in Italy.
Where? Enjoy the best of lake Garda: from Riva del Garda to Torbole, past the historical centre of Arco, a few miles along the Sarca river and then you will run down to the lake and back to the finish line.
When? Organized by Trentino Eventi, the 2011 edition is on November 13th. Over 3K runners are expected in Riva del Garda next autumn.
Why? The secrets of Lake Garda and Sarca river can be discovered in many ways: perhaps one of the most unusual is the half marathon to find unknown views, splendid Italian towns and paths that cannot be admired by car. Forget your PB and enjoy the apple cake, pasta party, polenta party, local wine and live music that Garda Trentino offers: a glass of Marzemino or Teroldego and you won't remember those extra minutes at the finish line. From Sirmione to Limone, from Trento to the Dolomiti, the options for a short break in northern Italy are endless.
