The Budapest International Half Marathon is a fast half marathon through the most picturesque streets of the capital of Hungary.
Where?
In Budapest romantic center, crossing two of the seven bridges on the Danube. The finish is on the Olof Palme promenade.
When?
Over 10 thousand runners will be in Budapest on September 4th for the 2011 edition. The time limit is 2 hours and 30 minutes. If you are looking for a longer race, the Spar Budapest International Marathon is 3 weeks later. Ultrarunners might want to join instead the Lake Balaton Supermarathon (17-20 March 2011), all the info on the same Budapest marathon website.
Why?
Spend a few hours in Andrássy Avenue, enjoy a coffee in a traditional coffeehouse, visit the amazing Buda Castle or do a bit of training before the race at Margaret Island: an historic city, a fast and flat course and the support of 10 music-points are all part of the Hungarian experience. Stay away from the Euro area, if you are looking for an half marathon after the summer break, Budapest is the best option in Hungary.
