What?
With over 25K runners in 2011, the Paris Semi-Marathon is the most famous half marathon in the capital of France.

Where?
The start and the finish are in Esplanade of the Château de Vincennes (Parc Floral) and the course offers the best of Eastern Paris, including Hôtel de Ville, the Centre Pompidou, place de la Bastille and the river Seine.

When?
The 2012 edition of the Paris Semi-Marathon will be on March 4th. Time limit is 2 hours and 50 minutes. Non-licence holders must present a medical certificate to join the race.

Why?
The not very flat and fast but beautiful course in "La Ville-Lumière" is a mix of parks, boulevards and spectacular views. And thanks to some wide streets, you (almost) forget that over 20K runners are invading the city centre. After the race you can relax and have a well deserved galette au sarrasin and a bolee de cidre in the Ile de la Cite or find a patisserie in a lesser-known neighbourhood. If you did not push too hard, go for a walking tour: from Quartier Latin to the Champs-Élysées, from Montmartre to Le Marais, the options are endless.
