What?
From a full marathon to a quarter marathon, the "Sparkasse-3 country marathon" is an event with five different races along Lake Constance in Austria, Germany and Switzerland.

Where?
From Lindau in Bavaria, an island in the eastern part of the Lake Constance (the Bodensee) to Bregenz, at the northern edge of the Alps: the marathon starts in Germany and finishes in Austria and you will enjoy a few miles in Switzerland too.

When?
The 2011 edition of the Sparkasse will be on October 2nd.

Why?
It's not just about ticking off countries or a truly international race: most of the course takes place along beautiful lake Constance, one of the biggest lakes in Europe, and you will have a great sightseeing tour of the region including the island of Lindau, the Wettingen-Mehrerau Abbey and the Rheindamm. A ferry ride back from Bregenz to Lindau at the end of the race will be an extra bonus.
