The author of Runner’s Kitchen, the most popular blog about running and cooking, Megan is a long distance runner living in Manhattan. She began running 10 years ago when she joined her junior high track team. Thousands of miles, dozens of shoes, and a few marathons later she’s still completely smitten with the sport. Her favorite place to run is in Van Cortlandt park at sunrise.
What has been your favourite race so far?
My favorite race was the 2008 New York City marathon – it was my first time running 26.2!
What race would you like to run?
I’d love to participate in a team race such as the Nike Hood-to-Coast relay.
City road or remote trail?
Hmm, I currently live in New York City, so I guess I’m a city runner. Central Park is a pretty great place to train.
Crowded 30K runners’ major events or quiet local ones?
You can’t beat the crowd support and excitement of a major road race. Running through the First Avenue crowds at mile 17 of the NYC marathon was unforgettable. That was my fastest mile (6:59)!
One more reason to go running?
Because you never regret going for a run, only the ones you skip.
