What?
The Trail Via Romana is a long distance trail marathon of 56km (and 3800m ascent). Shorter options of 36km (2400m D+) and 21km (1100 m D+) are available as well.

Where?
Start and finish are in the little village of Carpineto in Corsica, just over 50 kilometers far from Bastia. The race covers the rugged mountains of the island's interior, a map would be provided by the organizers. All runners must carry one litre of water for the entire race.

When?
Beginning of August. As for all the official races in France, you have to present a medical certificate (or a FFA licence) to pick up your race number.

Why?
Eaux d'Orezza, Piedicroce, Col de Prato and Bocca Caleruccio: the trail offers some of the best mountain views in Corsica. And you can combine the race with a few summer days in the amazing island, visiting Bastia, Corte, Porto Vecchio or Ajaccio.
