What?
With 10000 runners from the 1st edition in 2008, the Marathon des Alpes-Maritimes Nice-Cannes quickly became the second major marathon in France (behind Paris). In 2010 a relay race has been added too (teams of 6 runners, from 3.1 km to 10.8 km).

Where?
From Nice to Cannes, crossing Saint-Laurent-du-Var, Cagnes-sur-Mer, Villeneuve-loubet, Antibes, Juan-Les-Pins, Golfe-Juan. And a few miles around Cap d'Antibes too.

When?
November 13 should be (to be confirmed) the big day for 2011. No more than 15000 runners can join the race. As for all the official races in France, you have to present a medical certificate (or a FFA licence) to pick up your race number. The time limit is 6 hours.

Why?
The best for sightseeing (take a little camera with you) and a marathon in Côte d'Azur, from the Promenade des Anglais in Nice to Boulevard de la Croisette in Cannes. A flat marathon (the highest point is 34 meters, Cap d'Antibes), 100% on the seashore. Great support along the route as you run through the most famous towns in the French Riviera.
