What?
The Lisbon Half Marathon is the most popular half marathon in the Iberian Peninsula. The capital and largest city of Portugal hosts as well a full marathon and the Portugal Half Marathon in autumn, as well as other beautiful races, but no running event is so popular in Portugal as the Meia Maratona.

Where?
In Lisbon city centre, with the bonus of crossing the Tagus river over the 25 de Abril Bridge, the European Golden Gate Bridge: the finish line is just in front of the absolutely gorgeous Monastery of Geronimos in Belém.

When?
Organized by the Maratona Clube de Portugal and the departments of Lisbon town Hall, the 2012 edition will be on March 18th. Over 30K runners from Europe and beyond entered and enjoyed the race in previous years.

Why?
The world record in the half marathon has been recorded by Zersenay Tadese in Lisbon in 2010, but this is not the main reason to run in the most popular race in Portugal: a very fast race, Lisbon is a good chance to improve your best time but mainly one of the most beautiful cities of the world. From Bairro Alto to Chiado, from Baixa to Alfama district, you will enjoy a great weekend, run over a spectacular bridge, drink the best coffee and treat yourself with delicious pastéis: the famous Casa Pastéis de Belém is just a few metres from the finish line.
