Where?
The race starts at the home of Real Madrid FC (El Stadio Benebeu) and finishes in Meta Candilejas football stadium. The course takes in Calle Serrano, leading on to Plaza del Prado where the participants pass by the Retiro park and the last couple of kms is run down the Avenida Cuidad de Barcelona.
When?
December 31, 2011
Why?
The location makes it a great destination race for anyone who wants to enjoy the great shopping and nightlife that Madrid offers this time of year. The course starts on a hill, but the majority of the course is flat and well marshalled. The final kilometre is challenging with a steep gradient, but the finish around the track in the local football stadium is well worth it. Also, the atmosphere on the course is electric with chants of “Vamos, Venga, and Animo” throughout the route.
