If you are a runner traveling abroad, you often don’t know where to go to enjoy a safe run and have a first glance at the new city. Once popular only in the United States, running tours are more and more getting popular in Europe: from Berlin to Paris, from Rome to Istanbul, you can run a couple of miles or a few hours with someone who knows the best routes and all the popular landmarks of the city. Here are four very special ones that runners of RunAbroad.com particularly enjoyed.

Paris Running Tours
Brian is an athlete. A serious one, with Ironman triathlons and marathons experience everywhere in the world. But in Paris he is a slower runner and a knowledgeable guide who can help you exploring the city in a truly unique and healthy way. The different tours include the most famous landmarks of Paris as the Tour Eiffel and the Avenue des Champs-Élysées. From 50€ a hour for solo runs, less for shared running tours.

Golden Horn in Istanbul
The Goldern Horn is not the most popular tourist area in Istanbul. But it is flat and offers an interesting view on the more authentic life in the beautiful Turkish city. The Istanbul Golden Horn Walk-Jog & Sightseeing Tour is perfectly run by Osman, an enthusiastic and dedicated runner who has run many marathons and is a leading figure of the Turkish running world. I run with Osman last May around the Golden Horn passing interesting landmarks, such as the Atatürk bridge and the Eyüp Sultan mosque. I ended up with a customized medal too. Price from €10 a runner.
