What?
The Stramilano offers 3 races in one day: the Stramilano Agonistica Internazionale (an half marathon), the Stramilano dei 50.000 (a not competitive 10K) and the Stramilanina (5K).
Where?
All the events take place in Milan city centre: the Stramilano dei 50.000 (yes, the target is 50K runners) and the Stramilanina start in piazza Duomo while the half marathon starts at the Castello Sforzesco. The end is at the Arena Civica, the athletic stadium inside Parco Sempione.
When?
The Stramilano takes usually place at the end of March or beginning of April, in one of the few days when the centro storico is closed to cars. The 2012 will be on April 1st.
Why?
Taking now place in the same season of the Milano City Marathon, this is still the most popular running event in the the city of fashion. All the courses are flat and the half marathon offers a superb chance for a PB: most of the best performances in the last 20 years have actually been achieved at the Stramilano. Don't expect huge crowds and a lot of support along the way but the start in front of the Duomo is unique and the city in April is fabulous.
