What?
The BMW Frankfurt Marathon is a 42,1K in the largest financial city in Germany and the oldest German city marathon, with around 10000 participants. There are no shorter distances on the marathon day. A Pretzel Run (5k) is run the day before and you will be welcome at the finish with an original Frankfurter prezel.
Where?
In Frankfurt city centre: from Platz der Republik to Alte Oper, from Eschenheimer Turm to the Festhalle, a great run and sightseeing tour. One of the few runs in Europe that finishes with a red carpet in the festival hall, the "Gud Stubb".
When?
You can run the next edition of the BMW Frankfurt Marathon on October 30th 2011.
Why?
offers over 100 street parties, a great pasta party and an amazing Marathon Mall (www.marathonmall.de). The race is a great chance for a personal best and it was the fastest marathon in Germany in 2010: Wilson Kipsan, the record holder, completed his race in 2 hours 4 minutes 57 seconds. As long as you don't drink too much beer at the great Binding-Brauerei, you will enjoy a lovely running weekend in Frankfurt. Many pacers available as well, up to the quite uncommon 4:59:00, 5:29:00 and 5:59:00 groups. Finally some organizers think about slow runners as well.
