Michael Meyer is the director of Stillwater Sport & Entertainment, the event organiser of the "ProNutro AfricanX Trailrun presented by New Balance", a three day trail running stage race in South Africa. Daily distance between 25-42km, teamwork and views of the ocean, mountains and waterfalls are key elements of the race.
Tell us something about the race we cannot find on the homepage of the event.
The ProNutro AfricanX Trailrun presented by New Balance is the most beautiful trail within reach of Cape Town. It takes place in the Kogelberg Biosphere Reserve which is home to the most complex biodiversity on our planet! Here we have some 1880 different plant species… the next richest is the South American rainforest with just 420 species per 10000 square kilometres!
Do you have a favourite mile? Have you run the race yourself in the past?
I use to be a miler so my favourite mile will always be on the track. I have the utmost respect for ultra distance runners, but finishing a track mile in under four minutes will always be a challenge.
Apart from a pair of shoes and a smile, what would you like runners to bring to the race?
A sense of humour, and an admiration and enjoyment of nature and the outdoors as well as an appreciation for being able to run in one of the most beautiful areas in the world.

Some numbers: how many people are involved in the organization of the event? How many runners do you expect for the next edition? How many from abroad?
600 runners (30 from abroad). 200 people involved in the organisation of the event
What is your favourite race (excluding the ones you organize)?
My favourite race is the Boston Marathon. It is the second oldest marathon in the world and features the most exciting route that takes runners through burrows and towns into the centre of Boston.
