What?
The Stockholm Halvmarathon is one of the most popular half marathon in Scandinavia.
Where?
Through central Stockholm, around the Old Town: the race starts and finishes at the Royal Palace. It crosses a few bridges and it offers nice views of Norrmalm, Vasastan and Kungsholmen islands.

When?
The 2011 edition will be on September, as usual on a Saturday afternoon. Over 10000 runners from Europe and beyond enter the race every year. Only the half marathon distance is available in September, the traditional Stockholm marathon is in June and for a 10K you can join the Stockholm Midnight Run in August.

Why?
A fast race, Stockholm is a good chance to improve your best time but almost all to experience some of Stockholm’s most famous landmarks and buildings, like the Karlberg's Castle or the Swedish Parliament. Even if the temperature is pleasant, Sweden in September is not exactly a dry country, be ready for a wet race. Sport drink, fruit, water and a few bands are guaranteed along the course as in any major event. Relax the Sunday after the run at the Nationalmuseum or the Vasa ship.
