Runners from Hyderabad recently took part in the 20th edition of the Mumbai Marathon, a renowned athletic event that draws participants globally. Among them was Prashanth M., who emphasized the importance of rigorous training for marathon readiness. His four-month preparation regimen incorporated various running distances, strength training, and cross-training activities like swimming.
The challenging weather conditions of Mumbai, characterized by high humidity and heat, posed obstacles for the participants. Prashanth and Sai Kumar, another Hyderabad-based runner, both highlighted the impact of the weather on their performance. Srinivas stressed the significance of tailored training programs based on runners’ experience levels, age, and climatic conditions, with specific focus on acclimatizing to Mumbai’s weather.
The unique experience of running on the Sea Link Bridge was a standout moment for many participants, including Prashanth.
