China is set to make history by hosting the world’s first human-robot half-marathon in Beijing this April. The event will feature 12,000 human runners and humanoid robots from various global companies competing against each other. In addition to the top finishers, robots will also be recognized for categories such as best endurance and most popular appearance. During the race, robots are permitted to change batteries, and robot teams from a company can participate in relay form by swapping robots. Performance will be evaluated based on finishing time and the number of robot changes, with each change incurring a 10-minute penalty.
