What Is The Disney Marathon Weekend?

The Disney Marathon Weekend is one of the fastest growing events at Disney. Featuring a wide range of activities and events for runners and their families, as well as a chance to spend time exploring the parks of Walt Disney World. The Disney Marathon Weekend is a great reason to take a trip to Orlando. This event offers something for everyone in the family, from runners to walkers, and young to old. With more people visiting the park each year for the races, runners can have a great time and enjoy an exciting marathon. The main event of weekend is the full marathon.

This race is run on Sunday and takes places all throughout the Disney properties. The race will begin at Epcot and pass through each of the four parks before returning to Epcot, where the finish line is located. Those who complete this also have other opportunities to medal, as well. The second major race of the weekend is the half marathon. The Saturday race allows those who aren't up for the challenge of the full race or who just want to run a warm up, a 13.

1 mile version of the full marathon. This event also gives each participant who completes the run a medal. The biggest challenge of marathon weekend is the Goofy Race-And-A-Half Challenge. Entrants who participate in both races will receive a special medal for this outstanding achievement. Completing both of these events is a true challenge and very rewarding for those who go on to finish. Besides the main events of the weekend, the rest of the family can enjoy a Family Fun Run, as well as the Disney Health and Fitness Expo.
