Warsaw Half-Marathon Makes History with Record-Breaking Participation

The 116 123 Warsaw Half-Marathon made history as the largest half-marathon in Poland, with a record-breaking 14,720 participants. The event showcased world-class racing, attracting top-tier international athletes. Moroccan runner Soufian Bouquantar clinched the men’s title, closely followed by Mohamed El Ghazouany and Kenya’s Edwin Cheruiyot Soi. Polish athlete Adam Nowicki put up a strong performance, finishing fourth. The intense competition and support from the crowd created an electrifying atmosphere throughout the race.

In the women’s category, Argentina’s Daiana Ocampo dominated the field, securing first place with an impressive time of 1:10:48. Ukraine’s Viktoriia Kaliuzhna and Kenya’s Sylvia Mboga Medugu claimed second and third place, respectively. The fastest Polish woman, Sabina Jarząbek, finished fourth, showcasing the depth of talent in the race. The event saw a total of 14,720 runners participating, setting a new record for half marathon attendance in Poland.

The New Balance High Five race also saw a surge in participants, with 5375 finishers crossing the line. Mikołaj Czeronek and Elżbieta Glinka emerged victorious in the men’s and women’s categories, respectively. The event attracted a total of 20,095 participants across both races, highlighting the growing popularity of running events in Warsaw.

The Warsaw Half-Marathon route offered a perfect blend of speed and scenic beauty, taking runners through iconic city landmarks before finishing near the PGE Narodowy Stadium. Marek Tronina, CEO of the Warsaw Marathon Foundation, expressed his delight at the event’s success, emphasizing the spirit of unity and achievement that defined the day.

The race day was not just about competition but also about community spirit and giving back. The #BiegamDobrze charity initiative saw 1739 runners raising over 750,000 PLN for various non-profit organizations. This initiative highlighted how running can be a powerful tool for social good, uniting participants in a common cause.
