Marathon Watch Company, a renowned brand with a rich history of supplying watches to military personnel worldwide, has recently unveiled a special-edition timepiece paying homage to its Canadian origins. Established in Montreal in 1939, Marathon Watches has been a trusted provider for the U.S. Armed Forces since 1941. Today, the brand launches a limited-edition watch on July 1, coinciding with Canada Day and the 60th anniversary of the Canadian flag adoption in 1965.
The new release, the ADANAC Stainless Steel Navigator Pilot’s Automatic, is a part of Marathon’s Navigator collection, developed in collaboration with the Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. Limited to just 500 pieces, the timepiece is priced at $1,280 and showcases Canadian pride through its design elements. Featuring the iconic red maple leaf on the dial, the ADANAC watch also incorporates the word “ADANAC” engraved on its side, a nod to its Canadian heritage.
Distinctive in its aesthetics, the ADANAC watch boasts a white dial, a vibrant red bezel reminiscent of Canada’s flag colors, and a matching red-and-white NATO strap with sky-blue accents. The watch’s design highlights the strong ties between Marathon Watches and countries within the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). Crafted with durability in mind, the ADANAC Pilot’s Automatic comes in either 316L stainless steel or lightweight composite fibreshell, embodying military-grade performance suitable for pilots and enthusiasts alike.
Equipped with features characteristic of the Navigator collection, the ADANAC watch includes a sapphire crystal for enhanced visibility in low-light conditions, a bidirectional bezel for tracking a second time zone, and a glowing dial for optimal readability. This release marks the second edition of the ADANAC series, with this year’s model showcasing a more colorful and eye-catching design compared to its predecessor.
