Kenya’s Alfonce Kibiwott Triumphs in Marrakech Marathon

The 35th Marrakech Marathon witnessed outstanding performances from global athletes, showcasing a display of sheer determination and athletic prowess. Kenya’s Alfonce Kigen Kibiwott emerged victorious in the marathon, conquering the challenging 42.195 km course in an impressive time of 2 hours, 8 minutes, and 47 seconds. Moroccan runners Soufiyan Bouqantar and Omar Ait Chitachen also delivered strong performances, securing second and third places, respectively, and proudly representing their nation on the podium alongside the Kenyan champion.

In the women’s marathon, Beyenne Tifri Tsegaye from Ethiopia showcased her talent by crossing the finish line in 2 hours, 25 minutes, and 44 seconds, claiming the top spot. Moroccan athlete Oumaima Saoud and Ethiopia’s Bekele Abebech Afework secured second and third places, respectively, in a closely contested race.

The half marathon witnessed an intense battle, with Morocco’s Aziz Aitourkia clinching the top position by completing the 21.975 km race in 1 hour, 1 minute, and 35 seconds. The competition was fierce, with Kenya’s Langat Leonard Kipkoech and Moroccan Mousaab Hadout closely following behind, showcasing their exceptional running skills.

Bahrain’s Violah Jepchumba Kilonzoa dominated the women’s half marathon, claiming first place with a time of 1 hour, 10 minutes, and 42 seconds. Moroccan athletes Kawtar Kahhaz and Nazha Mchrouh secured second and third places, respectively, displaying their speed and endurance on the challenging course.
