Kenyan athletes emerged victorious in the 45th Istanbul Marathon, with Beatrice Cheptoo and Panuel Mkungo clinching the top spots in the women’s and men’s categories, respectively. The marathon, held on November 5, witnessed thousands of spectators cheering as the runners traversed from Istanbul’s Asian to European side during the traditional Public Run.
Mkungo completed the 42-kilometer race in an impressive 2 hours, 10 minutes, and 35 seconds, while Cheptoo crossed the finish line in 2 hours, 24 minutes, and 9 seconds.
