The 2025 running season is still in full swing, but RunCzech has already unveiled the event schedule for 2026. With ten exceptional running weekends planned exclusively for Czech runners, the series anticipates a surge in participation, building on the record-breaking numbers of this year.
Kicking off the 2026 series is the Prague Airport Valentine’s Run, a unique 7 km race set in Stromovka, Prague’s largest park, on Valentine’s Day. Following this, the Coelmo Napoli City Half Marathon in Naples, Italy, will host the first half marathon of the season, recognized as a World Athletics Road Races Label event.
The Generali Prague Half Marathon, a cornerstone of the SuperHalfs series, has consistently drawn top athletes and witnessed remarkable achievements, including a women’s world record. The event has seen overwhelming interest, with this year’s edition hosting over 16,000 runners and next year’s expected to sell out swiftly.
Part of the RunCzech Halfs series, the Prague Half Marathon is just the beginning, with subsequent races in Karlovy Vary, České Budějovice, Olomouc, and Ústí nad Labem offering a unique challenge. Completing all half marathons within 36 months earns runners a special medal.
RunCzech’s Mattoni “running festival” concept continues at half marathons outside Prague, featuring 5 or 10 km distances and family and children’s runs. The series culminates in the “Marathon Weekend” in early May, with the 31st ORLEN Prague Marathon as the highlight event, attracting runners of all ages and skill levels.
The UniCredit Prague Relay in mid-June offers corporate employees a platform to compete in teams over 4×5 km, fostering teamwork and camaraderie. The Birell Grand Prix Prague in September lights up the city with elite 10 km and women-only 5 km races, followed by the Mattoni Liberec Trail Run in October in the picturesque Jizera Mountains.
Throughout the series, the dm family runs and dm bambini runs provide opportunities for families and young runners to experience the joy of running together. Registrations for the 2026 races open on 28 August, with updates available on the official RunCzech website and social media channels.
Looking ahead to the 2026 calendar, RunCzech’s dedication to promoting running culture and fostering community engagement remains evident. As the series embarks on its fourth decade, the legacy of iconic races like the Prague Marathon continues to inspire runners and spectators alike, showcasing the enduring appeal and inclusive spirit of the sport.
With a rich tapestry of events scheduled across diverse locations, the 2026 RunCzech series promises to offer something for every running enthusiast, from competitive athletes to recreational joggers and families seeking active experiences. As the countdown to the new season begins, anticipation builds for another year of memorable races and shared moments of triumph and camaraderie.
